Comic Book Characters Are Just Like Real People

Sadly, Forces of Geek doesn't have any exclusive pics of our own (not yet), but we do have an exclusive script review coming next week. In the meantime check out the following pretty sweet pics that have made it online.

First off, Hit Fix, has some new looks at Matthew Vaughan's upcoming adaptation of the Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. series, KICK-ASS!

Pretty good translation, I'd say.

Kick-Ass! features a teenager who decides to be a super-hero, with real word ramifications. The comic tried to blur fiction with reality with "leaked" footage of Kick-Ass! in action prior to the book's release.

Next up, as reported on every movie site out there, director Gavin Hood headed back to Vancouver for some reshoots for the upcoming Wolverine feature. Rumored disdain with studio brass was shot down on Ain't It Cool News by star Hugh Jackman who insisted that all was well.
I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we've got much more in store!
He also provided another exclusive pic.

(L to R:Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Taylor Kitsch as Gambit, Hugh Jackman
as Wolverine, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth and Lynn Collins as Silver Fox)

Let's also take another look at one very cool X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer.

Finally, Edgar Wright has been posting on his blog various bits of news regarding his adaptation of cartoonist Brian Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, which is about 23-year-old Canadian Scott Pilgrim, a slacker-musician who falls in love with an American delivery girl, Ramona V. Flowers, but in order to win her dating hand, he must defeat her seven "evil exes".

Canadian Michael Cera is playing Scott and Elizabeth Winstead is Ramona. Joining the cast as of this week are Kiernan Culkin asWallace Wells (Scott's gay former roommate), Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers (Scott's bandmate's on and off again girlfriend), Ellen Wong as Knives Chau (Scott's ex, a 17-year-old Chinese Canadian high school girl) and Chris Evans as Lucas Lee (Ramona's second evil ex-boyfriend, a pro skateboarder turned movie star). The comics are pretty fun and it will be interesting to see how Wright interprets the kinetic cartoon energy with live action film.

RE: Wolverine. I wish I didn't have such a distaste for Ryan Reynolds onscreen...I don't have high hopes for this one. But I'm not one of those geeks who relishes in wanting to hate something. I hope I'm wrong, I really WANT to like it. :) Love all the other news, exciting!
