ODDS AND ENDS

With "Crack A Bottle," a track leaked from his eagerly anticipated record Relapse, Eminem reminds the world why music fans are awaiting the end of his self-imposed exile to end. A catchy chorus, mind-binding flow and his usual crass comments mark the return of Slim Shady. 50 Cent and Dr. Dre are also on "Crack A Bottle" but their position on the song doesn't work in their favor. The two beefy rappers should have taken the first and second verses because following Eminem on a song can expose all of rapper's flaws. I guess this proves steroids may be good for photo ops but doesn't help your rhyme skills too much.

In addition to his annual "Wrap Up" where he summarizes the previous year through song, Virginia hip-hop artist has branched out to a new topic: The Wire. Skillz has made an amazing song and video summarizing the entire five season run of the acclaimed HBO series in a mere five minutes. Impressive. Apparently, Skillz is not one of those ironic nicknames. For Wire fans, he even throws in a Clay Davis trademark.

(SPOILER ALERT: Don't watch this video if you've never seen the show but plan on watching it one day. This shortcut will not do you any good. Learn a lesson from The Cosby Show's Theo and Cockroach who tried to study for an exam on MacBeth by listening to a record of it. You only cheat yourself. Sit down and watch it. You'll thank me later.)
