According to the website, IGN, Universal Pictures is looking to revise the Battlestar Galactica franchise under the supervision of series creator Glen A. Larson. Unlike the successful re-imagining which is airing it's last season currently on Sci-Fi, the reboot would be based on the original 1978-1979 television series.
Prior to the current series, original series co-star Richard Hatch had started his own sequel series. At the time, Larson was also attempting a feature film and Hatch abandoned plans and joined the current series as the character of Tom Zarek.
