After the jump.
Duh.
Okay. For the first time I'm going to do an experiment. Entire stories rather than a single issue.
Let me know what you think.
Uncanny X-Men #141 & #142 aka Days Of Future Past
By Chris Claremont and John Byrne
The classic story which focuses on a dystopian alternate future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An older Kitty Pryde transfers her mind into the younger, present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria. If it seems familiar, the story has been appropriated in several episodes of the television series HEROES.
Batman #404, #405, #406, # 407 aka Batman Year One
By Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli
A young Bruce Wayne spent his adolescence and early adulthood traveling the world so he could hone his body and mind into the perfect fighting and investigative machine. But now as he returns to Gotham City, he must find a way to focus his passion and bring justice to his city. Retracing Batmans first attempts to fight injustice as a costumed vigilante, we watch as he chooses the guise of a giant bat, creates an early bond with a young Lieutenant James Gordon, inadvertently plays a role in the birth of Catwoman, and helps to bring down a corrupt political system that infests Gotham.
Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 aka The Sinister Six

Tintin The Black Island
By Hergé
An exciting and very funny tale of intrigue in which a gang of international forgers leads Tintin to the Scottish town of Kiltoch, where a dreaded beast is rumored to live. Along the way, Tintin is framed and has to dodge the pursuit of his old detective friends Thompson and Thomson.
