Disney has released the dubbed trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo (formerly Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea). Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid, the plot centers on a baby fish in the sea named Ponyo who wants to become a human girl, befriending a five year old human boy along her journey.
Voice cast includes Noah Cyrus, Frankie Jonas, Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cloris Leachman, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin and Betty White. The film was originally released in Japan in July 2008 and has grossed over $153 million to date.
Ponyo will premiere in U.S. theatres on August 14, 2009.
