SESAME STREET: A CELEBRATION OF 40 YEARS OF LIFE ON THE STREET (book review)

Sesame Street: A Celebration of 40 Years of Life on the Street
By Louise Gikow

Like most children of the Seventies, Sesame Street was my first geek love and this book is a testament to that adoration.

With over 1500 photographs, Gikow has assembled a trip down memory lane that made me feel both nostalgic and reflective toward my childhood. Sesame Street was so prevalent in my early memories, and the early merchandising of records, books and puppets fueled my imagination and creativity.

This giant coffee table book is packed with anecdotes, trivia, musical scores, script excerpts and those amazing photographs (a dvd of the pilot episode is also included), you'll have a hard time tearing yourself away.

More than anything else, the book serves as a vivid reminder of long forgotten memories of sunny days of a place where the air is sweet.
