Paramount Doesn't Stay Classy, Nixes Anchorman Sequel

Looks like the on again off again Anchorman sequel is off again. Director Adam McKay tweeted yesterday that Paramount has basically passed on the project.

McKay had stated earlier that even though it was tough to get the original cast back together, he was hopeful work would begin on the sequel next year.

McKay went further today to say that since Paramount owns the characters, he and co-writer / star Will Farrell could not shop the film to any other studios.

Despite the pay cuts that many of the stars of the first film agreed to, the support for such a large budget comedy was just not there by Paramount.
