DENNIS HOPPER (1936-2010)

Dennis Hopper, actor, filmmaker and artist, has passed away from prostate cancer.

Hopper made hundreds of appearances in television and film, making indelible impressions in such varied works as Rebel Without a Cause, Giant, The Sons of Katie Elder, Cool Hand Luke, Easy Rider, True Grit, Apocalypse Now, Rumble Fish, My Science Project, River's Edge
Blue Velvet, Hoosiers, Paris Trout, Super Mario Bros., True Romance, Speed, Waterworld, Basquiat, EDtv, Land of the Dead and the television series, 24.

Among his notable acomplishments, Hopper directed the film Easy Rider, which earned him both an Academy Award nomintation and an award at the Canne Film Festival. Hopper's work on the film was notable for his editing and use of improvisational technique to craft the performances.
