In addition to their release of Iron Man 2 on Friday, Thor is in production, Captain America is in pre-production and presumably both Iron Man 3 and The Avengers are on the fast track. Yet Marvel honcho Kevin Fiege isn't stopping there.
For the first time in cinema, a studio is developing their properties into one cohesive universe and with three films already released, I have to say they've done a pretty good job.

In these first three films we've seen not only our first glimpses of S.H.I.E.L.D., but have been introduced to some of the power players including both Nick Fury and Howard Stark, as well as how much of the Marvel universe centers around Captain America.
One of the really impressive feats is that the timeline for the films is extremely well executed, and their continuity all slightly overlap. We've also seen glimpses of the Marvel universe on a global level. Check out the image above for further details (click to embiggen).
And for those folks thinking that the potential Mandarin plot threads from the first Iron Man film were forgotten, when Mickey Rourke's character made an exchange in an ally in the sequel, he did so with a character called "10 Rings Gangster" in the credits.
