Cult Classic Movies Come To Comics

Publisher Fringe Majority is reimagining some of the most beloved cult films in comic book form across several platforms, with the anthology, Mondo Atomic.

Fringe Majority announces the release of its first graphic novel, Mondo Atomic. The book will be distributed digitally across all popular platforms as well as in a direct order collector’s print edition (signed and numbered).

Mondo Atomic retells the famous cult classics Plan 9 from Outer Space, Robot Monster, and The Brain That Wouldn’t Die, with a modern spin. Artists Matt Timson (The Darkness, Impaler) and Steve Buccellato (Elephant Men) join writer Dekker Dreyer in breathing new life into notorious stories. Although the source material is pure camp, Mondo Atomic’s reimagined visions of these iconic films is anything but. With updated science and scenes that couldn’t have been achieved at the time, our artists strive to fill in some of the gaps that made the original motion pictures fall short of their potential.

Writer Dekker Dreyer says, “I have an affinity for these old movies. I love them and we’re taking a lot of care to let these stories stay true to their roots; the original filmmakers were limited by so many factors that we aren’t. We’re hoping to bring their ideas to the page in a way we think they’d like to have seen them.”
