NBC is in the full-order business this week.
First, the good news for TV geeks out there: Chuck has been picked up for 11 more episodes to finish the 2011-12 season. Now the show’s loyal fan base can have a full 24 episodes to worry about the perpetually on-the-bubble series.
NBC also is not ready to throw in the towel on a bunch of its new primetime players, picking up Outsourced, The Event, Chase and Law & Order: Los Angeles.
It’s unknown what the Outsourced pickup means for Parks and Recreation, which is set to return midseason.
Chuck has averaged a 2.2 rating and 5.9 million viewers overall. Add in those DVR results, and Chuck adds 29 percent to its “live plus same day” 18-49 rating for its opening two weeks — to a 2.56 rating from a 1.99.
Outsourced has averaged a 3.0 rating and 6.3 million viewers overall. It’s the No. 1 new series among the adult 18-34 demographic on the big four networks this fall as well. The Event has averaged a 3.0 rating and 9.1 million viewers overall, and has generated a 30 percent improvement in the time period versus a year ago in 18-49 rating, 3.0 vs. a 2.3, and jump from 6.2 million viewers.
Law & Order: Los Angeles has averaged a 2.5 rating and 8.7 million viewers overall in “live plus same day” averages from Nielsen, picking up NBC’s numbers by 39 percent in the time slot from a year ago.
