Fox orders animated NAPOLEON DYNAMITE among bunch of toons

Fox isn’t content with mere Animation Domination, apparently. That’s just one day of the week, after all, and now it’s time for more.

The network has green-lit several cartoon projects, with an animated version of Napoleon Dynamite and a series featuring Jonah Hill as headliners.
Napoleon is being run by Mike Scully, the former showrunner on The Simpsons, as writer and executive producer on the six-episode order. Match of the indie comedy smash’s flavor may be intact, since original film writers Jared and Jerusha Hess are on board. And here’s one better: Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez and other major cast members are ready to lend their voices.
A rundown of several toon shows Fox is picking up for development, after the jump!
Allen Gregory: Jonah Hill voices a 7-year-old kid genius who’s about to begin elementary school with kids his own age. Hill is writing and exec producing the show along with Hot Tub Time Machine writers Andrew Mogel and Jarred Paul. Expect a 2011-12 season release for the seven-episode order.
Bob’s Burgers: A slice-of-life series about a man, his family and a burger joint from Loren Bouchard (Home Movies, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist). If the show has a King of the Hill feel, to it, here’s why: former Hill writer-producer Jim Dauterive is on the project. H. Jon Benjamin (Archer) voices main character Bob Belcher. Dan Mintz (Important Things with Demetri Martin) and Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords) are also in the cast. Set for fall 2011 release.
Godparents: From I Am Babycakes web animation star Brad Neeley, who did those audio spoofs of the Harry Potter movies. It’s being described as a twisted family show about an ill-equipped couple forced to care for their godchildren. Simpsons vet and former Letterman head writer Tim Long is on the project as well.
Red Roofs: About a 12-year-old boy who splits time between his divorced parents’ homes. Simpsons vet Bob Kushell, who also has credits on Third Rock from the Sun and Samantha Who?, is writing and producing. Still in early development.
