HUGE canceled, MIKE AND MOLLY gains strength

ABC Family has canceled its drama Huge after just one season. The show, starring Nikki Blonsky and Hailey Hasselhoff, followed teens at a summer weight-loss camp.

Huge drew an average 1.9 million viewers. ABC Family renewed its other summer releases Melissa & Joey and Pretty Little Liars. While Liars averaged the considerably greater 2.58 million viewers, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence’s project got less at 1.65 million but has Clarissa and Joey Russo attached for a little semi-star power.

Meanwhile in the tiny world of fat people on TV, CBS’ Mike and Molly drew 11.12 million viewers in its Sept. 27 premiere, and increased its take last night to 12.29 million.

Being a Chuck Lorre sitcom, Mike and Molly is full of broad jokes – get it? This time the humor is aimed at heavyweights and already has included Molly OD’ing on diet pills and codeine. Rather than watch the show yourself, Movieline has compiled all of last night’s fat jokes.
Um, enjoy them after the jump?
