These Are a Few of My Favorite Things RANT

Hello friends!

It’s FREEZING here in NYC, and we just had our first snowfall of the season! I went home last night during flurries, and woke up to a dusting on the ground this morning. I’m thankful that I don’t live in Minnesota!

X-Mas is just around the corner, and you know what that means…HOLIDAY MUSIC!

I have many favorites and would like to share them with you. But first, I want to share a commercial THAT I CAN’T STAND. I know you’ve seen it, or one of the other three in the series. It’s a car commercial for Hyundai. The band is called Pomplamoose. Good grief, a bunch of Hipster Doofuses, no doubt. POMPLAMOOSE? How did I miss that name when I did my rant on horrible, Hipster band names?

Anyway, here’s one of the spots…

And for an extra treat, please read the posts below that clip. One of my favorites reads like I said it myself, “I CAN’T STAND THIS COMMERCIAL – something about this band wants me to punch each of them – IN THE FACE.

I love that person!

It is beyond irritating and I REALLY hate the way they do that “cutesy” stop motion, jagged style of moving around. AAAAAGH!

But, I digress.

Now, let’s get to the GOOD X-Mas music!

Here’s one of my all-time favorites that always puts me in a great mood whenever I hear it. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you ELTON JOHN!

Oh my goodness, I LOVE THAT SONG! (too bad that clip has soo much hissing on it) I can listen to it over and over again. And I will listen to it over and over again.

Here’s a good one from the olden days. This video stinks, but just close your eyes and listen to that guitar! Oh BRENDA LEE‘s voice!

And while we’re back in time, I can’t forget about this. Fantastic! Most people think this was sung by Bill Haley, but it’s BOBBY HELMS

And now for a little soulful Xmas from DONNY HATHAWAY!

Sorry, the graphics in that clip stink, just appreciate the music.

And you know you love this one. How could you not?

And now, the BATTLE OF THE BEATLES! Well, that isn’t really fair because they couldn’t be more different.

First, here’s Paul

And now, here’s John – (the SONG starts at 6:07)

YAY, it’s BAND AID! and let’s not forget the only time we all saw Boy George and his boyfriend, Kool And The Gang, Paul Young, Jody Watley, George Michael, Phil Collins, and, and…

Paul Weller and Sting have the same haircut! But seriously, does anyone know why or how Kool And The Gang got in on this?

This is a GUILTY PLEASURE. Don’t judge me.

and don’t snort – that album IS THE BEST SELLING CHRISTMAS ALBUM OF ALL TIME. No joke.

Until her latest Christmas album came out this October, WHICH IS NOW THE BEST SELLING CHRISTMAS ALBUM OF ALL TIME!

Good for you MARIAH CAREY!

She may be as nutty as a fruitcake, but the girl can sang! Have you seen her lately? She’s pregnant, happy, and lounging around…even while she works!

And I can’t let you go without this. Cook some chicken and collard greens and enjoy
RUN DMC
!

Okay, I think that’s it for now. What are some of your favorite holiday songs?

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Love,
Crystal
