R.I.P. Heavy D

Hey kids!

This has been a very crazy week, and it’s only Wednesday. It’s a beautiful and sunny 65 degrees here in NYC, but I’m totally bummed because Dwight “Heavy D” Myers died yesterday.

You remember Heavy D – he was a very popular Hip Hop artist in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

He wrote and performed the theme songs for the show In Living Color, and Mad TV. His group, Heavy D and The Boyz had a big hit with the Stevie Wonder song, “Now That We Found Love.”

He was also an actor who had some roles on ‘Living Single,’ and ‘It’s A Different World.’

R.I.P. Heavy D. You will be missed.

Remember this Sprite Commercial?

“Now That We Found Love”

And here’s my all time favorite Heavy D song, “Nuttin’ But Love.” I play it at every DJ gig I have, and people ALWAYS love it! You might recognize some of the faces in this clip – what a time capsule!

GREAT STUFF!

Love,
Crystal
