A Nineties Nostalgia Show Being Made For ABC

While a nineties nostalgia show may have me feeling old, it also seems to be what ABC wants.
THR reports that ABC is creating a series about a "super cool" nineties girl band written by Seinfeld's Jennifer Crittenden and Scrubs' Gabrielle Allan. In the vein of Spinal Tap, the show hopes to focus on comedy over music.
The Bangles and The Go-Go's are listed as inspiration.

A MAGNETIC VERSION OF THE DUKE NUKEM THEME ON UKULELES..Oh, Excuse Me, Dukuleles
This post is for Logan Brown, the son of one of my oldest friends Josh, who spent every waking hour of my visit to Oregon telling me to "Blow it out my ass" or "I'll rip your head off and shit down your neck" anytime I asked for a pop.
Thank you Logan for reminding me how special the teenage years are.
This song is for you.

Relativity Wants JOHNSON And LAUTNER As Their DAVID AND GOLIATH
Earlier this year Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still) was hired by Relativity Media to direct their Biblical epic, David and Goliath.
According to Twitch, Relativity is in talks with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (Faster, The Rundown) to fill the role of Goliath.
The unconfirmed word is the studio have offered the role of David to Taylor Lautner (Twilight), which wouldn't be so surprising since Twilight producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are involved with the project.

Live! From London! IT'S BATMAN LIVE!!! (review)
![]() |
| By Chris J. Thmpson |

I think there's been a lot of confusion over what Batman Live is ...
Firstly, it's not a theatre production or a musical. The Joker doesn't sing and Two-Face doesn't tap dance - no matter how much you wish they would. Secondly, it's not a pantomime. There may be the odd moment where you want to scream 'He's behind you', but it's really not that sort of show.
So what is it then?
TWO CHATBOTS VIE FOR TOP A**H*LE...And This Is How Skynet Begins
What happens when two programs decide to have a chat with one another?
Well, lets just say that it feels like the conversations that occur during family get-togethers (you know the ones, where a dickish uncle mentions that you are getting too old to wear v-neck t-shirts with Han Solo on them).
I guess this is just the beginning of computers realizing that it might be a good idea to destroy human life...because they huge assholes and have to have the last word.
Stupid Chatbots.

While the details of his role are still secret, not even a guess could be made at this point about who he will play. One role that is not a secret anymore is that of Mark Hamill, who gave away what he plays in an interview with AOLTV. Keep reading for some minor spoilers.

100 YEARS OF EAST LONDON FASHION IN ABOUT 100 SECONDS
![]() |
| Now this is the kind of fashion I can get behind |
Personally, I couldn't care less about fashion outside of my t-shirts and Chuck Taylor collection, but it's nice to know that I can claim to be inspired by the late 70s East London punk style and sound like I know what I am talking about (Yea for me!).
My fashion retardation aside, the video/commercial is great and I'd rather watch this than an episode of The Jersey Shore.

KIM KARDASHIAN MUSIC VIDEO TEASER USHERS IN THE APOCALYPSE...Who Knew That The End of Days Would Start With An Ass Video
![]() |
| This is how the world ends...not with a bang, but an auto-tuned whimper |
Now, if decorative light fixtures are committing suicide over this auto-tuned gem of pure undiluted crap, then the End of Days are near people so we should probably start stockpiling the canned goods and fortifying our homes.
Of course, if you happen to enjoy a song that repeatedly says "Turn it Up" "Turn it Up" then by all means sit through the 55 second teaser that includes more Kim porn than should be humanly possible to cram into a music video.
I for one will be in my basement, surrounded by jars of Nutella, awaiting the Rapture.

HOW TO DATE MARK HAMILL Circa 1977
Back in the 70s and 80s it seems it was a whole lot easier to get involved with movie stars romantically as they were more open to letting the average man or woman see them naked.
I guess knowing that there were no camera phones with internet access helped, as well as lots and lots of available drugs to make these "normal" people seem attractive.
But what really made these stars (like Mark Hamill) accessible to people like you or I was the helpful dating tips that magazines like Tiger Beat and BOP put out so that upon meeting one of these television or celluloid Gods, we were prepared to go in knowing that "...we should not expect Mark Hamill to take you to wild parties-it isn't his thing".
See, you're already ahead of all the coked-out whores who ARE expecting him to take them to wild parties...he's gonna absolutely love you.
After the break is an entire Do and Don't list on seducing and making sweet love to Mark Hamill circa 1977 (which is something any self-respecting Luke Skywalker fan should know).
Good luck and May the Force (of love) be With You.

DAVID KOEPP Tapped To Write THE THIN MAN
Since Disney has halted production on The Lone Ranger because of the huge budget, Johhny Depp is wasting no time in moving forward on a passion project of his, a remake of The Thin Man, according to Deadline.
David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, War of the Worlds) has been hired to write the script. Koepp will be going back to the original source material which was the novel by Dashiell Hammett of the same name. The novel ended up spawning six films that starred William Powell and Myrna Loy.
Depp had set up project last year at Warner Bros. as a vehicle to re-team with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall. Depp will produce the film along with Christi Dembrowski, Kevin McCormick, Rob Marshall, and John DeLuca.

AN AMAZINGLY SWEET SHORT FILM ABOUT HURRICANE IRENE IN NYC
I missed the hurricane due to the fact that I happened to be vacationing on the West coast, but I stayed in close contact with my hubby who weathered through it like a champ (by staying in the basement huddled in the fetal position) and am happy to say that my house maintained its house-like shape and appears to have no damage.
But part of me wishes I was there to witness the storm like the following filmmakers, who managed to capture the amazing beauty of Mother Nature in a city that rarely stops for anything.
It's really a remarakable look at NYC when things are quiet.
Video after the break.
YOU KNOW WHAT MIGHT BE GREAT? Dance Versions Of The Legend of Zelda Songs and Some Fire.
When I get up in the morning (after a long night of watching Adult Friend Finder videos) I like to drink a hot mug of thick, black coffee and then pop-n-lock to some dance grooves.
And dammit, it would be quite awesome to do The Robot to some serious high BPM's of Legend of Zelda tunes!
While a fire kept the beat.
Yeah, that would seriously wake me up in the morning.
Well, that and putting out the flames that are now eating my kitchen.
Video of said music after the break.

Anywho, after the break is a link where you can pre-order the game (you only have a couple of days left) as well as a soft-core porn video of a guy sculpting a Klingon Bird-of-Prey token.
You can thank me later.

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN A D&D QUASI-MUSICAL Love Story...Nothing I Tell You.
You know something? I'm getting to the point where short films made by D&D fans are starting to become my favorite film genre.
I don't know what's going on in the world of table-top game play that is embedding role players with +1 creativity skills, but there is some crazy good film-making going on right now.
And the following gem (Role Initiative) is not only funny and well-done, it was also part of the Windy City Shootout 72-hour film competition which means that it took less time for these guys to make a movie than it does for me to digest and pass a Totino's cheese pizza.
Kudos to you!
Flick after the break.
GEORGE CLOONEY is No Longer THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

While the news is unconfirmed, Deadline is saying that Clooney is in the process of withdrawing from the Steven Soderbergh remake.
GARY BUSEY IS YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE...BUTT-HORN
You know what's amazing to me?
No, it's not the fact that I haven't been fired from this website yet (although, to be fair, those interns were asking for it what with their tight Star Wars t-shirts and hipster stubble), it's the fact that Gary Busey still manages to find a job that pays him in something other than Lithium.
AND, that the directors of these productions pretty much just hand him blank pages of a script at this point covered in pictographs to show him where he's supposed be in a scene and let him go wild.
Because there's absolutely no way that a screen writer wrote the following:
McBain (Busey's character) is in the rafters looking like a Meth addict yelling "I'm your worst nightmare Butt-horn" to Danny Trejo.
There's just no way.
Unless of course Gary Busey wrote the script, then I stand corrected.
Video of Gary Busey screaming out my favorite new insult after the break.

This month, her first major work, Tantalize: Kieren's Story a spin-off of a popular young adult series by Cynthia Leitich Smith has been released and Ms. Doyle's star is quickly rising, with upcoming work on both the sequel, a short story in Fantastic Four #600, her first story which she both wrote and illustrated and her continuing web-comic with writer Kevin Church, The Loneliest Astronauts.
