JACK RYAN Movie Enlists KENNETH BRANAGH

It looks like the long-gestating Jack Ryan film is still on with Kenneth Branagh at the helm.

Last week, 24-director Jack Bender left the untitled project based on the Tom Clancy character, and now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Branagh is now overseeing the reboot.  Branagh most recently directed Marvel Studios’ Thor.

Chris Pine is still attached to play the spy (previously portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck) in the new series which is expected to begin production this summer once Pine finishes Star Trek 2.  The film is being produced by Paramount and Skydance.
