The CW Picks Up ARROW For A Full Season
The public will get to see Arrow this year now that The CW has given the show a full season.
Dailyblam reported that the network has added the superhero show to the next Fall lineup. Stephen Amell from Hung will star as Oliver Queen and the Green Arrow. The story takes place five years after Queen apparently disappears. After being stranded on an island he's learned a few skills and returns to the city ready to fight the war on crime.
Also set to star on the show are Colin Donnell, who will play Oliver's rich old friend Tommy Merlyn who wants things to go back to normal. Katie Cassidy will play the female lead for the show, Dinah Laurel Lance/Black Canary. Willow Holland will play Thea, Oliver's younger and more famous sister.
With Smallville ending, the new show is sort of a replacement, but the character is nothing like the one seen in the Superman show that ended last year. After the show was optioned last year, it received a pilot order and has been popular with executives at the network. Premiere date and order length have not yet been reported. The network will likely make an official announcement sometime this month.
