MAGGIE GRACE May Soon Have Her Own Show On Showtime
Maggie Grace is coming to Showtime to star in a nine-episode arc on Californication, but after that she may just have her very own show.
According to Deadline, the actress has already picked up the role in the sixth season of the dark comedy. Her role as Faith is said to be a heavily recurring character that could spin into a new series centered around the character. The part of Faith is a "former Catholic school girl-turned-groupy who is considered a muse to elite artists." While the staples of sex, drugs, and rock and roll are still a major part of her role, she still has some religion and that's where she meets David Duchovny's character Hank Moody.
It's not a sure deal yet, but Showtime is always looking to expand their options with original content and new characters. This particular approach to a spinoff is rather unusual though. Normally a character is a regular on the show for a few seasons before a spin-off is even thought about. Introducing a character into a show is a pretty good idea though, it makes it easier to slowly introduce the character to an already established fanbase and eliminate the need for an origin arc when, or if, the new show debuts.
Grace is mostly known for her role in Lost, here most recent parts will be in the final Twilight movie and later on in Taken 2.
