We knew that James Cameron would be making a follow-up to the very popular Avatar, but now Sigourney Weaver says that Avatar 2,3, and 4 will all be filming at exactly the same time.
This means that while the movies may take a long time to make, once the first of the 3 comes out in 2014, there could be another Avatar film for the next two years during the holiday season. Cameron, a pioneer of the new 3D revolution is constantly working with his company to make better technology that will be used in the upcoming films.
Weaver says "I just show up," when talking about making the movies, she doesn't know when they will start or exactly how long it will take, or even how the whole filming three movies at the same time will even work. Something like this has never really been done in the past, but if it is successful we might see more successful franchises taking this route and making more movies.
