WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SANDIEGO? Right In Your Theater Soon

Darren Lemke has previously worked on titles like Shrek Forever and Turbo, He's also working on scripts for Jack the Giant Killer and an adaptation of R.L Stein's Goosebumps series. Now he'll be adding Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego to his list of projects.

Walden Media picked up the rights to the title in the fall of 2011, they will now be turning the educational computer game/cartoon into a full length live action movie that is looking to star Jennifer Lopez who is already attached as a producer.

The story will follows the team at ACME agency to find Sandiego when she turns from the greatest detective into the greatest thief. When it looks like they are close to catching her, it's discovered that there is an even bigger problem that might put the agency itself in danger. This makes her former partner question if Carmen is really a thief or is actually saving things and could really be the hero.

Walden sees the project as being a sort of blend between The Thomas Crown Affair and National Treasure. They hope that having the character around since the mid 80s means that there is a wide, multi-generational audience that is still interested in seeing the character again.
