MEET JEFF DOWD: The Real-Life Inspiration Behind "The Dude" of 'The Big Lebowski'

Most people who watch The Big Lebowski and have a soul love it with every bit of themselves and will passionately defend it to anyone who says, "It's okay, it's not great." (I once punched a guy in the balls for dissing it).

But very few of us knew that The Dude was actually inspired by a real-life person named Jeff Dowd, a former member of the infamous Seattle Seven- a radical 60s group opposed to the war in Vietnam- who met the Cohen Bros back in 1984.

This short documentary introduces you to Jeff and why he became so fascinating to the brothers. But most importantly it explores all the reasons why we should say thanks to the man who made Jeff Bridges spank-worthy to the ladies.
