THE S FROM HELL: A Short Film About the Scariest Corporate Symbol In History, The Screen Gems Logo

The following short film by Rodney Ascher (Room 237) is a... short documentary-cum-horror film about the scariest corporate symbol in history - The 1964 Screen Gems logo, aka ‘The S From Hell.’ Built around interviews with survivors still traumatized from their childhood exposure to the logo after shows like Bewitched or The Monkees, the film brings their stories to life with animation, found footage, and dramatic reenactments[The S From Hell].

Now, I personally don't remember being traumatized by this particular logo when I was growing up and left all alone in the afternoons with the TV as my babysitter (the Sit Ubu Sit, Good Dog tag line after Family Ties is what gave me the chills), but I can certainly appreciate a documentary about a generation of children suffering from permanent psychological damage caused by a corporation hell bent on slamming mundane television programming into our noggins.

Oh, and it doesn't hurt that it's one of the weirdest fucking things I have seen in a long time.

Check it out.
