There’s no doubt that the boldest and most personal fashion statement anyone can make is in one’s selection of t-shirt. Personally, I love them. It’s an opportunity to show the world what pop culture I care about, a wonderful flashback to the past and a fantastic way to initiate any nerd discussion.
For this installment of Cool Shirts, I took a look at some of the shirts from our friends at SuperHeroStuff.com which is not only one of the industry’s oldest superhero specialty shops, but also one of the best.
SuperHeroStuff sells more than shirts. Among their wares are hats, hoodies, underwear, socks, action figures, stickers, buttons, belts wallets, cardboard standups, jewelry and much more including large selections for women and children.
These are a few of my recent favorites.
HULK “GIMME GREEN PIE” Angry Face T-Shirt
Don’t make him angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
No better proof of that is this incredible (see what I did there?) depiction of the Green Goliath than this one. Teeth gritted. Eyes mad. Brow furrowed.
And green.
And ready to smash! This shirt is perfect fans of Ol’ Doc Banner, as well as his Jade Giant alter-ego.
Comes in a variety of sizes from puny human to rampaging monster.
Plus, it’s soft!
Silver Surfer Herald of Galactus Jack Kirby T-Shirt
Let’s set aside the fact that this shirt features the most popular devourer of world’s in pop culture, Galactus.
Then, take a look at the figure in the foreground, the once Norrin Radd now turned into Galactus’ herald, The Silver Surfer!
Infused with the Power Cosmic, The Silver Surfer roamed the cosmos searching for planets for Galactus to consume, eventually finding his way to Earth where Galactus was defeated by The Fantastic Four’s use of The Ultimate Nullifier.
And yet, still not the coolest thing on the shirt. That particular honor goes to the signature in the yellow circle in the lower right, “Jack Kirby”, one of the most important names and talents in the history of comics. This shirt is a small testament to the imagination of a genius.
Unless you were old enough to be around when Pac-Man debuted, it’s hard to believe what an amazing phenomenon and obsession the game was for this country. It even inspired a hit song which chronicles people’s devotion to the game.
And I’m headed to the arcade,

And so will you with this shirt featuring Pac, Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde.
Doctor Doom This is Doom’s Land T-Shirt
Let’s be realistic. Doctor Victor Von Doom is not a model for sanity.
He was raised a gypsy, grew up dabbling in black magic and then went off to college when he was in an accident and scarred badly enough that he thought that full body armor was wisest fashion choice. He also runs a small country called Latveria, which is not a top vacation spot.
Rumor has it that Doom’s accident only left him with a small scar, but his vanity prevented him for revealing his true face, instead hiding behind his armored visage.
But why is this shirt great? It’s a tribute to the imagination and creativity of Jack “The King” Kirby, the king of comics.
