‘The Wildstorm: Michael Cray #10’ (review)

Written by Bryan Hill
Illustrated by N. Steven Harris
Published by DC Comics

This has two issues left before it ends.

This has been such a great series. It did start off a bit slow but it actually stunned me with some of these takes on classic DC heroes. Writer Bryan Hill has made this comic something better than expected. I loved the plots and characters he has put forth.

This issue finds Michael Cray tracking down John Constantine.

We see that Constantine has taken possession of one of Cray’s friends, Homa.

Homa attacks Cray and throws herself out a window in one of the opening sequences. Let’s just say any further confrontations between the two probably end up in bloodshed.

Constantine has made it personal and I don’t think Cray will take this lying down.

Cray spends the issue trying to track down Constantine and figure out a way to save the world from Diana Prince.

That’s right, Wonder Woman has gone mad and the world is going to hell!

Cray only has two more issues after this to save it too!

The last page is completely bizarre in a Naked Lunch kind of way. I’m not sure where Hill is taking us but I’m enthusiastic that he knows what he’s doing. He has so far on this series so I’m just going to go with it.

The art by N. Steven Harris is wonderful. He paces his scenes together perfectly. Together with Hill, they have taken this forgotten character and breathed new life into him. I’m sorry that this title is going but I’m going to enjoy the hell out of the last two issues.

RATING: B+
