Brian Michael Bendis and Ryan Sook are working on a comic featuring Superman?

Sold!

I love Sook’s art and I’m loving the current stories by Bendis and having Sook doing the art is like having a cherry on the top of a wonderful desert. This is a another fine issue of this title and I’ve been loving it.

The book starts off in a dingy bar. There is a denizen of the underworld showing a woman the Dial H for HERO mechanism. I was immediately excited. Is Bendis reintroducing that concept? It seemed to be heading in that direction.

But then, there is a mysterious figure standing behind these people.

Who is it? That is the question!

No, seriously The Question appears and I immediately jumped for joy. Bendis handles the character great! I immediately sat up and paid close attention for that rest of the issue. I love The Question and I was so incredibly excited!

From there, we head over to The Daily Planet. Clark is there working. He then receives a phone call that propels the plot in motion. We are getting closer to figuring out who killed the Red Cloud.

And the phone call Clark receives from Melody Moore makes him put on that Superman suit and investigate everything. It gets damn exciting quickly.

Bendis keeps the book lively and it works very well. His scenes with Clark just being Clark are all great. When Clark becomes Superman though, the scenes become action packed. The quick fight scene at the end is great and sets up the next issue nicely as well.

ArtIst Ryan Sook is making some of the best art of his career here. It’d be great to see him on a long Superman run. His style is fluid and is perfect for this book. This is another great issue in a highly enjoyable run.

RATING: A
