‘Nightwing #64’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens
Art by Ronan Cliquet
Published by DC Comics

This is another fine issue by an extremely solid creative team. Dan Jurgens and Ronan Cliquet just meld together perfectly on this title. I do like the direction that they have taken this book (just call him Dick Grayson, though) and it’s a turned into a solid read month in and month out.

The opening of the book takes place in a bar owned by Beatrice Bennett. The bar is suddenly under siege by a bunch of criminals. And guess who comes to save the day?

No, not the Nightwing Squad.

It’s actually Talon who comes to the rescue!

This leads to a violent scene where Talon takes apart the perpetrators and causes much destruction!

Talon then takes Beatrice and grabs her. He wants her to get in touch with Ric. Meanwhile, the Nightwing Squad is doing some good in the city. It isn’t long however, before Ric is on the path to facing Talon.

Things start to get very exciting from this point on!

Ric goes to track  Beatrice down. He eventually finds her but she is tied up and taken hostage. She screams that Talon knows who Ric is! She also says that Talon knows who he was as well! Things are really coming to a head here. And that is when the Talon is ready to strike!

The individual issues on this title always seem a little short. But that may be because I am so invested in what is happening. The writing on this is excellent and it works very well with the art. I’m interested to see how this storyline will resolve itself. Let’s see what happens!

RATING: B+
