ABC eyes HULK revamp

The Incredible Hulk may flex again on primetime.
ABC is in the very early stages of developing a live-action show, according to reports. It’s the first new project from Marvel Television and its top dog Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Heroes) since Marvel was acquired by ABC parent Disney.
The previous Hulk series, starring Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk and Bill Bixby as alter ego Bruce Banner, ran on CBS from 1978-82 and spawned a half-dozen TV movies. How the show would fit in with the Hulk’s appearance in the upcoming Avengers movie is yet to be seen — or whether it would fit in at all.
We can only hope for three things in this situation:
1. The show doesn’t suck.
2. This starts an escalated TV war between Marvel and DC Comics, which is developing a Wonder Woman series with David E. Kelley.
3. The new Hulk has some reprise of the sweetest ending in all TV: the sad walkaway.
