Biggest disappointment of 2010? HBO. The overall quality of their shows just isn’t what it was in the early part of the decade when they had The Wire and The Sopranos going. True Blood is very entertaining, but last season felt like an underwear advertisement. Treme and Boardwalk Empire suffer from having way too much exposition.
What accomplishment were you most proud of in 2010? I watched Lost — the complete series on Blu-ray — in about a month.
What are you most looking forward to geeking out over in 2011? 2nd Generation iPad.

Charles J. Baserap
Columnist, Danger Rooms / Author, An American at the Crossroads

Movie:  All right, with an infant, I now go to the movies maybe twice a year at most, so I’m going with one of those in Iron Man 2.
Television:  I’m still digging Fringe something fierce, but Supernatural and Smallville had great second halves to close out the 09-10 season and great first halves to start the 10-11 season.  Let’s go with Fringe, Smallville, Supernatural in that order.
Book: If politicians can vote for themselves, so can I: An American at the Crossroads: An Independent Walks the Line Between Right and Wrong, Right and Left, and Truth and Distortion in the Age of Global Terror, by yours truly.
Comic Books:  Tough call, but I’ll give it to Morrison’s Batman, with Planetary‘s conclusion and The Unwritten coming not far behind.Video Games:  Barely play ’em anymore, but I loved the hell out of LEGO Star Wars and Batman.

DVD/Blu-ray Release:  Batman: Under the Hood, a great DC Direct video that did a fantastic job.

Viral Video:  N/A (I got nothing) Shameless plug maybe that got a few hundred hits on Facebook.
Favorite web sites:  Uh, hello, FOG!  But also Facebook, Comic Book Resources, and good old Yahoo! and Google.
Celebrity crushes:  I’d sell my parents into intergalactic slavery for one night of no questions asked, don’t have to call you the next day loving with Sofia Vergara from ABC’s Modern Family.  I’d settle for the same transaction for a nooner with Erica Durance of Smallville.

Biggest disappointment (s) of 2010?  The government, and the fact that stupidity is still without a cure.
What accomplishment were you most proud of in 2010?  Honestly, it’s getting An American at the Crossroads published and selling 100 copies or so in the first 6 weeks.  For an unknown with almost no financial backing or advertising due to a very small publisher, I consider that a success.
What are you most looking forward to geeking out over in 2011?  I don’t know what it is, but this “Fear” thing that Marvel has been teasing for April has me quite interested.  That, and seeing Thor verily smite some folks.
