Hi, what are you looking for?

No Matter Where You Go, There’s A Comic – BUCKAROO BANZAI #1

Moonstone Comics has announced that they are releasing Buckaroo Banzai #1 in July, 2011.  For those of you unfamiliar with the 1984 movie, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, staring Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Llyod, and Pepe Serna, you bear the brunt of my contempt for you are living a hollow existence.

The movie follows the adventures of neurosurgeon/rock star/adventurer Buckaroo Banzai as he and his band, The Hong Kong Cavaliers, battle the Red Lectroids from Planet 10 over the oscilliation overthruster.  Now that’s a pitch for a movie!

Moonstone’s upcoming comic release is written by Earl Mac Rauch and Paul D. Storrie.  Rauch was the writer on the original movie, so this guy knows what he is doing.  The art is by David Daza of Transformers Prime fame.

According to Moonstone’s Press Release:

The creators/film makers are telling NEW stories!
Death’s Head tank squad lurks in suburbia, talking bouncer-robots attack, expensive love wants to erupts, and Lectroids run with scissors, and then … shotguns!

Sounds like it could be fun.
