Hugo Awards 2011 — Best Graphic Story Nominees

Recognizing the best in science fiction and fantasy, the Hugo Awards are given out annually by the World Science Fiction Society.  They’ve been doing this since 1955.

Since 2009, the awards also include one for “Best Graphic Story” Since then, Girl Genius, written by Kaja and Phil Foglio, drawn by Phil Foglio, and colored by Cheyenne Wright, has won both years. Vertigo’s Fables, written by Bill Willingham; illustrated by Mark Buckingham, has been nominated each year.

Both are nominated again this year. 

The award will be given out on August 20 in Reno, Nevada, during Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention.

Grandville Mon Amour, by Bryan Talbot (Dark Horse)

Schlock Mercenary: Massively Parallel, written and illustrated by Howard Tayler; colors by Howard Tayler and Travis Walton (Hypernode)

The Unwritten, Volume 2: Inside Man, written by Mike Carey; illustrated by Peter Gross (Vertigo)
