According to Deadline, Disney has struck a seven figure deal with the screenwriter and Lost executive producer to create an original, large scale sci-fi film that will play to the entire family. Currently, the only thing known about the project is it’s being referred to as 1952.
This will be Lindelof’s first feature film where he will be producing from the get-go.
Since Lost ended a little over a year ago, Lindelof has had his hands full as a screenwriter. He worked with the writing team of Alex Kutzman and Robert Orci on Cowboys and Aliens, and currently they are all working on the Star Trek sequel together. Lindelof also did a rewrite of Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel (scheduled to be released on March 9, 2012).
Once Lindelof finishes his work on the Star Trek 2 script, he will be moving on to the 1952 project.
Consider me very curious about this one!
