Hi, what are you looking for?

According to Variety, Ericson Core (Invincible) has been hired to direct the upcoming crime film Youngstown Boys.

The film will be based on a true story about the largest bank robbery in US history, which took place in 1972 in Laguna Beach, California.

The film will focus on a gang of thieves from Youngstown, Ohio who are hired by the Teamsters to steal $30 million in illegal campaign contributions as well as blackmail money from President Nixon.

The gang ended up robbing the wrong bank, United California Bank instead of Nixon’s Bank of America branch in San Clemente. The group pulled away with $12 million, but seven of the eight thieves were apprehended rather quickly, except for the getaway driver who wasn’t arrested until 1980.

The latest version of the script was written by Ken Hixon (Welcome to the Rileys, Inventing the Abbotts).

Currently, Core is meeting with actors.
