Nicholas Cage (Season of the Witch, Drive Angry) and Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) are looking to team up again on Frank or Francis according to THR.
Kaufman and Cage previously worked together on the Spike Jonze (Where the wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich) directed Adaptation, which Kaufman wrote and Cage starred in.
Charlie Kaufman will take on both writing and directing duties for the film which has been described as a Hollywood satire about Frank, a film director who has to deal with Francis, an online blogger who is out to attack Frank’s work. The project is currently being shopped around town, looking for financing.
Both Jack Black and Stave Carell are already attached to the project, but no word yet on which actors are playing what roles.
Anthony Bregman will produce the film through his production company Likely Story, which also produced Kaufman’s directorial debut, 2008’s Synedoche, New York.
