According to THR, Dermot Mulroney (Zodiac, The Family Stone) has joined the cast of Stoker which is written by Prison Break star Wentworth Miller.
Chan-wook Park (Oldboy, Thirst, Lady Vengeance) is directing the film and for his transition stateside he has stacked the film w/ a talented cast that includes: Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole, Dogville), Mia Wasikowska (Jayne Eyre, Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right) Matthew Goode (Watchmen, The Lookout), and Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom).
The story follows a young woman (Wasikowska) in mourning of her recently deceased father, who has to also deal with a mysterious uncle (Goode) who shows up to meet the family and at the same time people begin to go missing in town… Mulroney will play the girl’s father.
Mulroney has a trio of films coming out in near future. He can be seen on August 26 in The Family Tree opposite Hope Davis and he will be playing the baddie in Abduction which stars Taylor Lautner and opens on September 23rd. Mulroney also has a role in the Clint Eastwood directed J. Edgar, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role about the FBI’s first director.
Stoker will start shooting later this month.
