It looks like Matt Dillion (Takers, Crash) has closed a deal to co-star in Imogene, joining the already cast Kristen Wiig (Adventureland, Bridesmaids) and Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right, Bugsy), according to Deadline.
Shari Sprinder Berman and Robert Pulcini (American Splendor, The Extra Man)) are directing the indie/comedy, which started shooting this week in New York. The script was written by Michelle Morgan (Middle of Nowhere).
The film follows a playwright (Wiig) who fakes her own suicide attempt in reaction to losing her job, getting evicted from her apartment, and her boyfriend breaking up with her. She ends up returning home into the arms of her gambling addict mother (Bening). Dillion will be playing the mother’s love interest who claims to be an CIA operative, but he may just be nuts.
Dillion was originally set to star in Freaky Deaky alongside Brendan Fraser and William H. Macy. Fraser ended up dropping out of the project and Macy and Dillion followed suit opening up his work schedule.
