Robert Redford adds three more heavy hitters to his already stacked cast for his next directorial effort The Company You Keep.
Variety is reporting that Anna Kendrick (Up In The Air, 50/50), Terrence Howard (Iron Man, Hustle and Flow), Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges, Green Zone), Sam Elliot (Ghost Rider, Up in the Air), and Jackie Evancho (11-year-old America’s Got Talent finalist) have all joined The Company You Keep.
Redford (in his first appearance on screen since 2007’s Lions For Lambs) will star as Jim Grant, a former Weather Underground activist wanted by the FBI for the past 30 years who has to go on the run after a young and determined reporter (Shia LeBeouf) discovers his true identity.
The film also stars Chris Cooper (American Beauty, Company Men), Susan Sarandon (Bull Durham, Stepmom), Nick Nolte (Warrior, The Deep), Stephen Root (Red State, Cedar Rapids), Richard Jenkins (Let Me In, The Visitor), Julie Christie (Finding Neverland, Afterglow), and Brit Marling (Another Earth).
Howard will play Cornelius, the senior FBI agent on the case who has pursued Grant across the country and now leads a task force assigned to take down the Weather Underground fugitives who have been on the run for the past 30 years.
Gleeson will play Henry Osborne, the retired Michigan Chief of Police who investigated the bank robbery during the 60’s that Grant was involved in.
Elliot will play Mac, Christie’s employer in the marijuana trade who used to be romantically involved with her.
Evancho will play Redford’s daughter, who has recently lost her mother and is unaware of her father’s past.
The Company You Keep is currently shooting in Vancouver with a release date to take place sometime next year.
