Hot off working on the reboot of Mortal Kombat, writer Oren Uziel is now writing the adaptation of Cat Patrick’s Forgotten.

According to THR, Uziel is adapting the sci-fi novel for Paramount which is set to star Hailee Steinfeld. Produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire, the film is about a kid who forgets everything.

The story of the novel revolves around a 16-year-old girl who has her memory wiped every morning at 4:33. All that she knows are actually things that will happen in the future.

The book, which was published in June, will be adapted by Uziel who recently sold The Kitchen Sink, a comedy and has been writing the Mortal Kombat reboot for New Line.

Steinfeld is known for being the star of the 2010 version of True Grit. That film made $250 Million and earned a few Oscar nominations. She is currently set to star in a version of Romeo and Juliet.
