According to Deadline, Walker is in negotiations to star in Brick Mansions, the Americanized version that was written by Luc Besson who co-wrote the original. He will be co-writing the movie with Taken collaborator Robert Mark Kamen.
Set in the city of Chicago, Walker is expected to play an undercover detective “chasing a weapon of mass destruction that was stolen by a drug dealer in the ghetto known as Brick Mansion.” That is basically exactly the same premise as Banlieue 13 just moved to Chicago.
The original film was directed by Pierre Morel, who also directed Taken and From Paris With Love. Right now the director for the new film is unknown though Besson is giving the job to another protege.
