Hi, what are you looking for?

Producer Robert Zemeckis is now creating a feature film based on Dark Horse Comics’ Fort: Prophet of the Unexplained based on the life of Charles Fort.

According to THR, Zemickis is looking to make Charles Fort, described as the “period Ghostbusters” with writer Evan Spiliotopoulos and Universal Pictures. Charles Fort was an early-twentieth-century researcher who was known to delve into the unexplained.

The Dark Horse four-issue comic series of 2002 made Fort into an investigator that dealt with aliens and murderers in early 1900s New York City. In reality, Fort was a skeptic who collected data simply to prove to himself that things could be scientifically proven.

Forts books include title like The Book of the Damned and New Lands which were some of the first books to even mention levitation, teleportation, alien abduction and other paranormal activities.

The film is the first project for Zemeckis under his new first-look deal with the studio.
