WB Buys Action Thriller THE ENVOY

Warner Bros latest buy happens to be a spec script action thriller called The Envoy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the script from Robert Lynn is a Transporter (though he doesn’t know it) like action thriller that is set to be produced by Joel Silver and Andrew Rona from Silver Pictures.

The story of The Envoy revolves around a diplomatic courier in Vienna on a normal delivery. When things go wrong, he discovers that what he is moving is actually very sensitive information that needs to get to the American embassy. Of course he has do to that while multiple bad guys are trying to kill him and/or steal the information back.

The project was first found by Sarah Meyer at Silver Pictures who will be a producer. As far as thrillers go the company has had success with the genre, most recently Unknown, and Silver is currently producing the Sherlock Holmes sequel A Game of Shadows.

Lynn may be remembered as a contestant of Project: Greenlight. He followed that up by writing and directing low-budget films. This film will be his first major sale.
