The rights to The Likeness have been acquired by Paramount Pictures. They want Stephanie Savage to adapt the novel to a brilliant film.

According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures will be producing the Tana French novel adaptation with Savage and Fake Empire partner Josh Schwartz. They acquired the rights through the first look deal that they have at Paramount.

The story of the novel is centered around a young detective who goes undercover in a college town to solve a murder. While she does want to find the answers to the case, she also finds herself being drawn into the world she infiltrated.

The novel by French is a sequel to her 2008 book In The Woods. The studio also has the rights to that title.

Schwartz and Savage have already set up five projects with Fake Empire. Fun Size, directed by Schwartz is set to come out in late 2012.
