If there is a Heaven I hope there is one specifically tailored to rappers who made my world a better place and that Heavy D (Dwight Arrington Myers) is having a real good time right now.
I can’t tell you how my heart hurts at this news of his death because you are not a white girl who grew up in a Pacific Northwest town whose only African-American populous were those that had been adopted by white families and so her only exposure to a culture that did not revere mayonnaise was on the radio and Yo! MTV Raps.
And one of my all-time feel-good favorites was Heavy D and the Boyz.
After the break is one of my favorite songs off of the 1994 album Nuttin But Love.
You’ll be missed.
