Hi, what are you looking for?

Sony is getting ready to make a feature adaptation of the 80’s TV show The Equalizer, and Denzel Washington is set to be the star.

According to Variety, the re-imagining of the story will be written by Richard Wenk and produced by Escape Artists, who recently renewed their first-look deal with Sony.

The Equalizer was on CBS from 1985 to 1989 and was about an ex-secret agent who uses his skills to run investigative services to atone for his past sins.

The project is now starting development headed by partners Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.

The three have been partners with Sony Pictures Entertainment for over ten years and as co-chair of SPE Amy Pascal says “They have first-rate taste.”

Escape Artists current other titles in development include a telling of Masters of the Universe and the adult comedy Sex Tape starring Jason Segel.
