After directing Chronicle, Josh Trank is as the top of the list of directors being chosen for the next Fantastic Four.

Variety reports that Trank who has been in a few meetings with 20th Century Fox, is the frontrunner to direct. While meetings have happened, the studio is waiting until after Chronicle debuts to make an official offer to Tranks. The latest draft of the script is set to come from Green Lantern scribe Michael Green

The first two Fantastic Four films grossed $620 million worldwide. The studio recently had luck with their reboot of the X-Men franchise with First Class. The full length story of Deadpool is also in the works the Ryan Reynolds starring.
