Jonathan Levine is the director behind the still unreleased horror film All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, he followed up his debut with the indie hit The Wackness, and most recently Levine directed both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogan in the more mainstream dramedy 50/50.
Later this year we will get to see Levine’s fourth film, a big screen adaptation of Issac Maron’s book Warm Bodies.
Now we have a new look at Nicolas Hoult (X-Men: First Class, this summer’s Jack the Giant Killer) who plays R, a zombie living in a post-zombie apocalypse America who falls in love with Julie (Teresa Palmer), the girlfriend of one of his victims. Julie is also the daughter of a general (John Malkovich) who would like to destroy all zombies.
I thought the book was a pretty unique and off-beat zombie tale, one that was introspective, romantic, funny, and still had a good amount of action in it.
The pic looks better than the first image that was released a few few months ago, this one being less Twilighty.
Let’s hope that Levine sticks to the book’s main story line and we will hopefully get a fresh take on the zombie genre.
