Hi, what are you looking for?

General

DON CORNELIUS (1936-2012)

Don Cornelius, the creator, producer and host of the television series, Soul Train from 1971 until 1993 has passed away, the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Soul Train, one of the longest running syndicated series in the history of television introduced a number of African-American recording artists to a wider (and whiter) audience including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, New Edition, Prince, Marvin Gaye,The O’Jays, Parliament-Funkadelic, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Donna Summer, Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, Barry White, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, and dozens more.

.. and you can bet your last money, it’s all gonna be a stone gas, honey! He was Don Cornelius, and as always in parting, we wish him love, peace and soul!”
