The androids are still dreaming of electric sheep, and Harrison Ford be coming back in a new Blade Runner movie.
According to Twitch, Ford is in early talks right now to have some role in what looks to be a direct sequel to the original film and not a reboot. Of course, because it is so early, it’s always possible that the deal doesn’t go through or he passes on an offered role.
In March 2011, Ridley Scott was said to be working on an update to the classic sci-fi with Alcon Entertainment and Warner Brothers. Scott is signed on to direct the project which will most likely be his next project after Prometheus wraps.
At that point in time it was thought that the new movie would be a reboot and have no actors or ties to the original. Producer Andrew Kosove even said in an interview with the LA Times that this movie will have nothing to do with Harrison Ford. “This is a total reinvention and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting.”
If the rumors are correct it sounds like there may be some rewrites or changes in plans over at the development offices. Would you like to see Ford return to his role or see something new?
