The big name actors come out today for Quentin Tarantino, Dracula, and Snow White.
Russell Crowe could be looking donning fangs as Dracula, while Saoirse Ronan is Snow White. Tarantino’s new project and a prequel to one of his earliest films are getting more cast members. And finally, the Beat Movement of the 40s has a few new characters. See all the casting news, right after the break.
Variety reports that Modern Family star Ty Burrell will be coming to the prequel of Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. Burrell is set to play Marshall Taylor a country club member who has a moral dilemna after witnessing the kidnapping that is the focus of the film. The follow up to Tarantino’s early film is an adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s adaptation Switch which is set 15 years before the events in Jackie Brown. John Hawkes and Yasiin Bey have already signed on to play the leads as younger versions of Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson’s respective roles from Rum Punch
According to Deadline Evan Parke will be coming to Quentin Tarantino’s newest project Django Unchained. His role in the film is not yet known. He joins big names like Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson. Production has already started in parishes in Louisiana and the same set built city that Deadwood was shot in. He previously has done work on Desperate Housewives and The Young and the Restless along with films like King Kong and Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes.
Michael C. Hall, Kyra Sedgwick, and Jennifer Jason Leigh are set to join Kill Your Darlings according to Deadline. The three join Daniel Radcliffe, Ben Foster, Elizabeth Olsen, Dane Dehaan, and Jack Huston in the thriller. Hall is set to play the role of a murder victim and friend of Foster’s character William Burroughs. His death is an event that helps trigger the Beat movement in 1944. Radcliffe has the role of Allen Ginsberg while Huston will play Jack Kerouac. The roles of the other new additions to the cast are unknown. John Krokidas will be directing from a script he co-wrote with Austin Bunn.
For the upcoming Snow White story Order of the Seven, Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) is in early negotiations for the lead role in the Disney action adventure. According to THR, Ronan will play the Englishwoman being chased by “an ancient evil.” She meet the seven, a group of international warriors that belong to an old order but have lost their way. Each of the warriors will have a unique fighting style and come from all over the globe. Michael Gracey will be directing the project which is set in China.
Vulture reports to us that Russell Crowe could be coming to the Dracula story Harker that Leonardo DiCaprio is producing. He would be playing the role of Jonathan Harker, now a Scotland Yard detective that is investigating a number of murders in England carried out by the Count. The project has Jaume Collet-Serra set to direct. He was supposed to be doing Akira, but after budget troubles, that project has been shelved, but he could return to direct it after Harker is finished. Crowe has been working on Les Miserables and is seriously considering Noah with Darren Aronofsky, so there are no guarantees.
