THE WOLVERINE Gets A Release Date

We knew that a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine was coming at some point. Today we are given that release date.

Announced today came the news that The Wolverine will open on July 26th, 2013. The project originally had Darren Aronofsky attached to direct, but he dropped out. James Mangold picked took over for the film which will be shot and takes place mostly in Japan.

The only other films opening that week are the Dirty Dancing reboot and the Phineas and Ferb movie. At this point there are no details on what will happen in the film. Hugh Jackman said recently that they may end up filming a PG-13 version in addition to an R-rated version of the mutant renegade hero film.
